What can you discover in the surrounding area

The Auvergne is also a paradise for fishers: there are kilometre-long trout basins, numerous lakes and rivers, ponds and dams of varying sizes.
All fishers and tourists can experience relaxation and emotions through the miscellaneous fishing spots and many different kinds of fish.

Vielseitige Angelplätze und viele verschiedene Fischarten bieten allen Anglern und Touristen Entspannung und Emotionen…

The lakes and waters are separated into two categories:

Salmon waters (trout, salmon, samlet).
The upper reaches and inlets of the Allier are part of this group (Alagnon, Dore, Lignon, Sichon) along with the Aveyron and the Besbre, the Cère, the Dordogne, the Loire, the Rhue and the Truyère
Salmon in Allier is threatened with extinction, therefore appropriate protective measures have been put into place: Salmon fishing is often banned, the dam in Saint-Etienne-de-Vigan was destroyed and a salmon culture was born.

Carp waters (carp, white fish, fallow, barb, roach, tench).
The mid and lower currents of the above named rivers belong to this group.
There are strict rules about catching shellfish.

Lakes - you can fish here in peace and quiet but fishing can become quite a sport when it comes to catching pike, carp or trout.

Museums - There are even museums dedicated to fishing in two towns in the Auvergne, where you can find out everything there is to know about angling and fishing.
